Clam Bay to Grace Harbour

The next day we said "adios" to Tad and Tina and continued our journey north, with an overnight in Clam Bay, between Thetis and Kuper Islands, in order to catch the morning tide through Porlier Pass (between Galiano and Valdes Islands). The weather was great, providing a very pleasurable sail across Georgia Strait and north to Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast of BC. Here we picked up our long-time friends Jim and Sue Gentry from Clarkston WA. who joined as crew for a couple weeks. More crab in the pot and an early departure on the 14th for Desolation Sound. Arrived at Grace Harbor (inside Malaspina Inlet) in the late-afternoon. We had shared a sailboat charter with the Gentry’s 20-years before in that same area. Crabbing in the Desolation area is spotty, so we switched our attention to shrimp and cod.
