Hanging Around Blaine

It's been a beautiful summer in the Pacific Northwest...we even had a run of over 30 days without rain!!  Earlier this month Tall Ships made port in Blaine for a couple days.  Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain were open for tours and even staged a couple sea battles.  We took the Whaler out to watch...lots of cannons and pirates.

Lots of noise and smoke...but no damage!
The Bellingham Bay Rotary Clubs sponsored the 7th annual Brewers by the Bay to benefit NW Youth Services. The event showcases regional breweries and 35 participated.  Great Time....but too many to taste them all!!
Two tastes at a time!!

$25 got you a glass and 5 samples....
Being back in Blaine allows us to spend time on the water with our grandson Seamus.  He has now passed all the exams for 1st Mate.
Plover - the smallest ferry in the US..

Seamus taking the 1st Mate exam...
Nothing like a cold beer and steamed clams after a long day on the water!!
This past weekend the Olson clan gathered in Blaine for games, food and drink.  Good times with all of our grandsons (and family) and my brother from Lynnwood.  Doing what we do best... boating, fishing, seafood boils and..... cold cerveza and vino blanco around the fire.  It doesn't get much better than that!!

Jayden and Ethan

Telling a few stories around the fire pit.....

A trip to the Birch Bar Fair...and candy for all...

We have had so many beautiful sunsets this summer we thought some needed to be shared.  We don't recall summers with as many......No explanation needed...

Until our next chapter....life is good.
