Half Moon Bay to Santa Barbara: Taking Time to Smell the Roses!

We arrived in Half Moon Bay on September 6th, a sunny day and only a short 6 hr. run from San Francisco. The anchorage here is well protected and free of the persistent ocean swell. We offloaded the dinghy and toured the small waterfront area, finding a great beach restaurant for lunch.

We were pleasantly surprised by the fact that we found our selves in Half Moon Bay under a half moon….

We departed on the 9th for Santa Cruz and amazed at the amount of sea life along the California coast. Whales circle schools of sardines and use bubbles to bunch them up before rising straight up...mouth wide open.. to grab lunch. The seagulls feed on the leftovers..
